Well, I'm here!

Okay, so the first day we were here, we were really pampered and the day was so full so I really didn't feel like I was here mentally. Our first night here there was a thunderstorm, it's the dry season right now so that is extremely unusual. The next morning Wairimu, the program director in Kenya said something that woke me up and reminded me why I wanted to come here for so long;

"When the rain comes, it allows for things to grow and to live and that is always a good omen. The day you arrived in Kenya, you brought the rain."

That statement snapped me here, it was such a beautiful moment. It was so pure and it reminded me I came here to BE a part of this beautiful culture and meet people who are willing to share their lives with me, and to appreciate every moment.
