Carnivores! & Kiswahili

We went to the infamous restaurant Carnivore, it was awesome! They come around with slabs of various meats on machetes and cut you fresh pieces. It was so good! I tried some pretty interesting food though, the list included (believe it or not):
  • Ostrich Meatball
  • Beef
  • Lamb
  • Goat
  • Crocodile
  • Pork
  • BBQ Ribs
  • Ox Balls
Sean (asali) and I decided to buy a Tusker for our Swahili professor Ndalegwa Amisi since we always joke in class about how "tunapenda kunywa Tusker baridi sana". He knew immediately that it was us who sent him a treat. Then Wairimu "pranked" him and had told the staff that it was his birthday. It was the best birthday ever for him let me tell you. The staff brings over a drum and dance and sing "siku ya kualiwa" and Ndalegwa starts dancing and clapping and singing with them! It was such a great night!

I really lucked out with my kiswahili class. Sean Kelly (middle above) and I are the only ones in 102 and it is taught by none other than Ndalegwa Amisi! He is really an amazing person and an absolutely incredible teacher. He has such life in his face and expressions and is always happy and makes class exciting and so fun! He is one of my favorite professors of all time. Ni profesa mzuri sana sana! Oh, also we have class outside in the gorgeous weather in a garden and we drink Chai when class starts going slow so we can wake ourselves up and continue. Yep it is awesome.
