Jambo Kenya! So much has happened in the past two weeks, it feels like I have been here for years when I've only been here for 2 weeks!
We landed at Nairobi International Airport on January 18th to the sun coming up, so this is the first sunrise I saw in Kenya! I can't begin to explain how absolutely gorgeous this place is, everything is so green and lush and it is so exciting to finally be here! We got to the compound in Karen that afternoon, I knew it was going to be nice but it exceeded any expectations I had for sure:
So then we were pampered all day with down time and yoga (during which I fell asleep and had to be woken up... oops) which was totally needed after 3 days of travel and hardly any sleep. I am so excited to be here, this is something I have dreamed of doing since I was young. I love learning about how other people live and what different cultures have to share. Plus all the animals!! The three parts of the SLU program are a rural home-stay, urban home-stay, and independent study which I hope to work with baby elephants! Ahh! I still can't believe I am here, somebody pinch me!
